Barcelona will entertain Rayo Vallecano at the Nou Camp this Sunday evening as they look to secure all three points at home in La Liga. The Catalan club managed to secure a solid 2-0 victory over Almeria recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.

Xavi will opt for the 4-3-3 formation once again and is expected to make a few changes to his first XI for this game. Both Andreas Christensen and Ilkay Gundogan will probably get the nod to play from the start of this contest.

Defence

Marc-Andre ter Stegen will feature in between the sticks for the Catalan club after keeping a clean sheet in his last league appearance. Pau Cubarsi could continue to function alongside Inigo Martinez at the centre of Xavi’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.

Jules Kounde will continue to play as the right-back while Joao Cancelo hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Rayo Vallecano half.

Hector Fort and Marcos Alonso will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench. However, Ronald Araujo is a major doubt for this game because of a knee injury.

Midfield

Ilkay Gundogan, Andreas Christensen and Fermin Lopez could make up Barcelona’s midfield. Their main focus would be to dominate the ball and create some decent chances for their teammates to find the back of the net.

Pedri and Sergi Roberto will drop to the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if required.

Raphinha could get a chance to catch the eye on the left flank while Lamine Yamal continues to play on the right wing. Robert Lewandowski will spearhead Xavi’s attack down the middle. The Polish forward failed to score against Almeria in midweek, so he would be eager to find the back of the net this weekend.

Ferran Torres and Joao Felix will be named on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if Barca are in need of a goal by then.
