Nottingham Forest are set to be without leading scorer Chris Wood for up to two months.

Wood suffered a hamstring injury during last week’s defeat to Arsenal which has led to a spell on the sidelines.

Multiple reports on Monday claimed that the New Zealand international is likely to out of action for between seven and eight weeks.

“He (Wood) is out. He is going to be out for some time,” confirmed Nuno Espírito Santo.

“Hopefully not a long time, but let’s see. We are frustrated but this happens.

“Chris felt uncomfortable so we did a scan and there is a minor injury there.

“We have to adapt and try to find solutions for the problems. It is part of the job. We are not here to always feel sorry for ourselves. With problems we will find solutions.”

Nuno is now expected to explore the possibility of loanee Divock Origi leading the line for Forest’s FA Cup fourth-round replay with Bristol City on Wednesday.
