Everton will travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday in the Premier League, and it’s going to be another cracking contest.
Since losing against Aston Villa in David Moyes’s first game in charge after returning to his old club, the Toffees have remained undefeated in their last seven games, winning four of them.
Chris Sutton says he keeps on expecting Everton to slip up under Moyes, but that has not happened yet.
The popular pundit doesn’t think the Toffees will lose against Wolves, but the game has a draw written all over it.
Wolves are missing their talisman Matheus Cunha for this game due to suspension. Sutton has predicted a 1-1 draw for this game.
Sutton said to BBC Sport: “Since losing his first game back in charge, against Aston Villa, Moyes has won four and drawn three in the Premier League, which is seriously impressive.
“Bearing that in mind, I am not going to predict an Everton defeat here, but this game smells of a draw to me even though Wolves will be without the suspended Matheus Cunha.”
Everton drew 2-2 against Manchester United and managed 1-1 against Brentford, and in both games, the Toffees should have picked up more points than what they got.
Under Moyes, the Toffees are creating more scoring chances than they did under Sean Dyche. Against Brentford, Beto got two clear-cut chances, but he couldn’t finish them off.
Moyes will be frustrated by the form of Jack Harrison and Jesper Lindstrom. In order to win games, he needs more goal-scorers. Both these players have not scored a goal this season, nor have they provided an assist, and they need to work on those areas.
Wolves have shown signs of resurgence under their new manager, Vitor Pereira, and they have taken a five-point lead, which gives them breathing space above the bottom three.
The gap feels like a massive advantage at the moment, but whether they will be able to hurt Everton without Cunha remains to be seen.
