Chris Smalling nearing long-awaited return from injury

Chris Smalling is reportedly closing in on the highly-awaited date of his return from injury.

For the past five months, the English defender has struggled with a chronic knee injury which forced to miss all of Roma’s games except for the opening three matches of this season.

However, the countdown for his return to the pitch is on, reports Il Tempo.

The newspaper claims that Smalling needs another ten days before being available again, so the objective remains the first leg of the Europa League playoffs against Feyenoord on February 15th.
