Chris Smalling is still probable to leave the Italian capital after failing to attract offers before the transfer deadline.

Now the only viable option for the English defender remains the Suadi Pro League where the market closes on October 6th.

As reported by Il Tempo, Roma are working on the addition of two defenders on the free agent market.

Right now, the favorite is Mario Hermoso, former Atletico Madrid man. He is in pole position to join De Rossi’s ranks already in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Roma are also talking to Mats Hummels’ camp – the German veteran would be replacing Chris Smalling in case of the Englishman’s departure in the next weeks.
