Former Manchester United coach Chris Armas will get a chance to take charge of Leeds for the foreseeable future, as he takes over as interim manager in the wake of Jesse Marsch’s sacking.

Armas arrived at Manchester United last season to become Ralf Rangnick’s assistant coach from December 2021 to May 2022. You may remember how he was dubbed ‘Ted Lasso’ among a large number of fans across social media, but now he will be looking to prove them wrong.

The American joined Leeds last month as Marsch’s assistant, but he will now replace his fellow countryman in the hot seat.

According to the Daily Mail, Armas will stay at Leeds for now and is set to lead the team into a double header against United, with the first match at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. The Reds will travel to Elland Road at the weekend.

The news has now been cited by Sky Sports News.

Leeds will be looking for a new manager bounce when they come to Old Trafford, but our lads are well equipped to get six points from both fixtures.

At United, Armas will be remembered for being part of Rangnick’s staff. A sorry spell of poor results and lacklustre performances.

Thankfully we’ve since gone on to improve under Erik ten Hag. At least he knows what he’s doing.
