MILAN - Cristian Chivu is Inter's new manager: our Romanian boss took part in an exclusive interview with Inter TV, during which he explained all his emotions for this new adventure with the Nerazzurri
Welcome back to Inter. Today your third spell here begins. What are your first emotions as Inter manager? "I am honoured by the opportunity that I have been given. I have passion and ambition, and I will transfer this to my players as we must do what a team like Inter deserves, which means going all the way and fighting to win".
You are coming to a club that you know very well, but now you have an important responsibility. What are your expectations for this new adventure with Inter? "We want to finish this season as best as possible, and we must all have the passion that you need for getting results. We will need to be efficient and effective".
What will your work start with? What is the first step you want to take? "My work will begin with the Club World Cup, we must regain mental energy and go and do what a team like Inter must do, i.e. try to win the trophy".
In the past few years, Inter's group spirit has been one of our strengths. You have been part of strong, winning teams: how important is it to work on this, as well as a sense of belonging? "There are many important things including the environment. We want to be ambitious as certain things push the group forward and give us a confidence boost".
At Parma you managed a real achievement in just a few months. What can you take from this experience? "The desire to do well and to reach objectives. The club believed in me and the players always were determined on the pitch".
Nerazzurri fans remember you not only for the win, but for your strength, on and off the pitch. What do you have to say today, as a manager, to all of those who believed in you and your link with this club? "We need all of us, to believe in ourselves, to be enthusiastic about a season that isn't over yet. Then we must look very positively towards next year".
