Versatile midfielder Alejandro Zendejas is still only 22 years old and has a very bright future ahead of him. However, it appears that it will not be at Chivas.
According to numerous sources in Mexico, the former FC Dallas player will join Necaxa on a year-loan. Necaxa will have a purchase option should they like the player.
There’s an interesting third option that could occur as well. Should a third team want to purchase the player after the conclusion of Zendejas’ loan spell, the two clubs will split the fee evenly.
The proposal was deemed very attractive to the Chivas board as they get to reduce their payroll for the upcoming season while the player gets valuable first-team experience that could see Chivas recoup some or all of the $500,000 they paid for him back in 2016.
It’s believed that Zendejas will report to Necaxa training in the coming days.
