Despite his very successful MLS campaign and his desire to prove himself once again, Mexican striker Javier ‘Chofis’ López is unlikely to play for the Flock ever again.
Chivas reportedly wants to sell him to obtain resources for the next transfer market and there are no plans for him to return.
The 27-year-old has been one of the best first-year players in Major League Soccer, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists in 31 games thus far.
San Jose has the first priority to negotiate for López and have the option to purchase him or extend his loan by another year.
Even if the Earthquakes fail to bring him back, Chivas would put López on the market as they are not willing to look past his disciplinary issues.
