Chivas are not looking to cancel Saturday evening’s Copa por México clash with Mazatlán FC, despite confirmation that the Sinaloa club have has three positive tests for Covid-19.
In a statement released overnight, Mazatlán said that all their camp had tested negative before games began in Guadalajara.
However, the latest round of tests showed that two players and one member of staff have contracted the virus.
ESPN is reporting that the Flock are not looking for the game to be called off.
A health official for Los Rojiblancos told the station: “Everything will be handled with the normal protocols that have been implemented for the matches, as it has been carried out.”
Chivas need a win to guarantee a place in the semi-finals of the pre-season tournament.
This game will be Mazatlán’s third competitive fixture since their owners decided to move to the club and rename them from Monarcas Morelia.
