In one of the fastest-developing twists in the Liga MX transfer market, midfielder Rodolfo Pizarro will be returning to Chivas.
The Inter Miami star met with the Chivas directors on Sunday to set aside their existing differences and worked out a compromise that will allow him to become the first Chivas reinforcement prior to the 2021 Guard1anes tournament.
In a message he posted to social networks, he said: âThank you for everything! I say goodbye to a great institution, one that opened the doors for me. I will never forget all of you. âOnly the tough walk,â he published.
Though the transfer fee is not yet known, itâs believed that Pizarro will sign a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of 2022.
The news, of course, came as a giant shock to Chivas supporters as negotiations were held in complete secrecy, who had requested his return under the assumption that the possibility was next-to-nothing.
His career in Guadalajara was nothing short of monumental, contributing 15 goals and 11 assists in just 58 games while winning three titles: a Liga MX, a Copa MX (both in 2017), and the Concacaf Champions League in 2018.
In case you werenât aware, today is DĂa de los Santos Inocentes in Mexico, an April Fools Day of sorts! So if you thought this was too good to be true, it is! Sorry for getting you excited!
