Chivas star Alexis Vega celebrates Toluca's success over América 🙌 | OneFootball

After a disappointing campaign with Chivas, Alexis Vega was at least able to take some joy from the fortunes of others on Saturday.

As a former Toluca player and a current member of the Flock, the Mexico international had a vested interest in the outcome of Saturday’s Apertura semi-final second leg between América and Los Diablos Rojas.

So Vega was understandably delighted to see Toluca advance to the final after a 1-1 draw at the Estadio Azteca gave them a 3-2 aggregate success over Chivas’ Clásico Nacional rivals.

It led him to take to Twitter to post “11 is coming @TolucaFC”, with an accompanying star emoji to illustrate that he is backing his former club to add to their 10 Liga MX titles.

They will get that opportunity next weekend when they take on the winner of the other semi-final between Monterrey and Pachuca.

Chivas fans will no doubt have shared Vega’s vicarious enjoyment of América’s misery.
