Oribe Peralta returned to action for the U-20 side of Chivas as the veteran striker looks to fight his way back to first-team action.
The 36-year-old has endured a torrid 2020, having not played a competitive game at senior level since the defeat to Tigres on 8 February.
Peralta did not feature again before the Clausura was cancelled, though he did see the field during the Flock’s run to the final of the Copa por México pre-season tournament.
However, the forward subsequently tested positive for Covid-19, which then forced him to miss the start of the Guard1anes 2020 campaign.
New Chivas manager Víctor Manuel Vucetich sent the 2012 Olympic gold medallist down to the second team to get some minutes under his belt.
Peralta, who failed to get on the scoresheet, was introduced with 22 minutes to go as the Chivas U-20 side overcame their Pachuca counterparts 3-2.
Chivas will be hoping they can get Peralta back firing on all cylinders as soon as possible.
Los Rojiblancos are the joint lowest scorers in Liga MX with just four goals to their credit through six games.
