When Chivas sporting director Ricardo Peláez had his introductory press conference in December, he stated that the club’s first objective would be to win this season’s Copa MX tournament.
However, Chivas did not even get close, as they were eliminated by second-tier Dorados on penalties on Tuesday despite their 1-0 win which put them level on aggregate.
After the match, Uriel Antuna spoke about his side’s failure.
“We did not have the ball and the match ended up getting out of hand,” Antuna said.
“We are sad and we are angry with ourselves because we did not achieve the desired result. We wanted to win and now we will give it our all in the league.”
Through three games in the league, Chivas are currently in fourth place on five points. They will travel to Atlético San Luis for a Friday night showdown.
