The visitors opened the scoring after just nine minutes at the Estadio Akron.

Striker Gabriel FernĂĄndez, who was brought down in the penalty area, dusted himself down to coolly convert from 12 yards.

Juárez’s lead would not last long, though, with Chivas frontman Ángel Zaldívar on hand to finish from close range just before the quarter-hour mark.

Los Rayos captain Maximiliano Olivera was heavily involved in two decisive moments early in the second half.

He appeared to clearly handle the ball in the build up to Fernández’s second, but VAR somehow decided to allow the goal to stand. Olivera then bumped Zaldívar to the ground in the other penalty area moments later, but again the officials gave him the benefit of any doubt.

It looked like Los Rojiblancos would fall to their second successive home defeat, but substitute GodĂnez found himself in the right place at the right time to strike with just a minute left on the clock.

The result leaves the Flock on four points from three games, with JuĂĄrez registering their first point of the campaign.
