Late Wednesday night, Chivas released a statement claiming that José Juan Macías will be returning to Guadalajara to begin training with the first team.

Many reports claimed that the 22-year-old was staying put in Europe to continue pursuing his dream but his club says otherwise.

“José Juan will join first-team training in the next week and will seek to earn a place on the squad based on the effort, dedication, and persistence that characterises him, all for the collective good of Chivas.”

Macías hardly had any activity with Getafe, playing just over 200 minutes in eight games where he could not score a single goal. He has not played since November.

The Mexico international striker, though he is still linked with a switch to CSKA Moscow and Sporting Kansas City, has been handed the number seven shirt.
