After an exchange with Cruz Azul where Uriel Antuna and Roberto Alvarado were involved, both Chivas and Cruz Azul protected themselves by inserting a clause to earn 50 per cent of their next future sale.
Through their social media, Chivas revealed that Alvarado has signed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2026.
Despite being just 23 years old, Alvarado has a number of domestic and international trophies to his name, including the Concacaf Champions League (Pachuca, 2017), Liga MX (Cruz Azul, 2021 Guard1anes), Copa MX (Necaxa, 2018 Clausura; Cruz Azul, 2018 Apertura), Supercopa MX (2019, Cruz Azul), Leagues Cup (2019, Cruz Azul), the 2019 Gold Cup, and the Bronze Medal at these past Olympics.
After passing his physical and medical examinations, Alvarado has joined training sessions and is 100 per cent ready to help Chivas fight for the upcoming Liga MX title.
It’s been widely reported that Chivas will likely sack Marcelo Michel Leaño and Ricardo Peláez at the end of the season should the club not achieve their goals this season.
