After two-and-a-half years, the Chivas stage of Oribe Peralta is finally over.
In an official announcement on the Chivas website, the club announced that his contract would not be extended, thus ending the 37-year-old’s stint in Guadalajara.
“After two-and-a-half years of wearing the Chivas shirt, Oribe Peralta ceases to be a player of the Sacred Rebaño.
“He has been an example for many, thanks to his extensive career and his daily work, which was transmitted to the new Chivas generations who had the opportunity to share training sessions, trips, and games with the ‘Cepillo’.
“At Club Deportivo Guadalajara there are only words of thanks for the historic striker of our country.
“His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to help his companions were his main characteristics within the Sacred Herd.
“Oribe is in the process of defining his next professional challenges, aware that Chivas’ doors are open in the future if he so decides. Much success in whatever comes, Oribe!”
Peralta turned down an opportunity to become a manager in the youth ranks to extend his playing career. He has been linked with both Santos Laguna and an MLS switch.
