Chivas goalkeeper Raul Gudiño is set to complete a move to MLS in the coming days after his contract expired at the end of May.
According to reports at ESPN, the 26-year-old goalkeeper is to join Atlanta United and the player all but confirmed the transfer while at the airport on Friday.
“I think it’s not so much about proving a person or a team or something like that, it’s just about myself,” he said.
“I think I have to prove to myself that I can aspire to new challenges and goals to get out of the comfort zone, all that implies this decision and I am very excited and happy to come to a club like Atlanta.
“There were several, there were several approaches and everything, but as I have said, they are negotiations, they are talks and it was good that the decision was made to go there and as they say, I was not afraid to leave Mexico.”
While at Chivas, Gudiño featured in 85 matches where he recorded 21 clean sheets.
