The collateral damage of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has generated an unprecedented economic crisis all throughout the world, still continues to hit Chivas hard.

Chivas are still trying to rebuild themselves, meaning they will be a lot less crazy in the upcoming transfer window and take measures that will provide the club with financial sustainability.

According to Milenio, Chivas and their first-team players have agreed to a salary reduction of six percent for the 2021 calendar year. This includes all players who have a professional record.

Milenio claim that the measure has been received well by the members of the first-team, considering that other clubs in Mexico and around the world have required their players to accept reductions of up to 50 percent.

There was still no official confirmation of the news, though it will surely be announced in the next few days.
