The 24-year-old Mexican forward has been the subject of much speculation recently as contract talks between him and Chivas have seemingly reached an impasse.
However, Vegas showcased once again why he is such an important element of the Rojiblancosā set-up registering a goal and an assist on the night.
After a slick move down the left flank, the ball broke to Vegas on the edge of the area. The forward used his pace to power through the heart of the defence, leaving three Pumas players in his wake before slotting home.
From scorer to provider, Vegas broke away from a Pumas corner. He ran almost the entire length of the field before putting the ball on a plate for Roberto Alvarado to double the advantage.
The visitors did pull one back in the second half through RogĆ©rio curling effort, but before any talk of a comeback could be uttered, Chivas had regained their two-goal buffer ā Ricardo Angulo won the ball high up the field and finish with aplomb.
Chivasā 3-1 win extended their unbeaten run to three matches as the mood continues to improve for the RebaƱo Sagrado.
