Chivas began the 2022 Apertura with a disappointing draw against Juárez on Saturday.
Scorers: N/A
The Flock thought they had opened the scoring in the 12th minute only for the goal to be chalked off in unfortunate circumstances.
Alexis Vega was denied twice, first by by the crossbar and then by Juárez goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera, before Carlos Cisneros forced the ball home only for a VAR review to find that it had grazed the winger’s fingers before crossing the goalline.
Chivas dominated the first-half proceedings, but couldn’t manage to break the stubborn resistance of Los Bravos.
It was a more even affair after the break, with neither side looking particularly dangerous in the final third.
Having lost striker José Juan Macías to a season-ending knee injury on Thursday, Chivas will be worried by their inability to score at the Estadio Akron.
It will be viewed as a good point by the visitors, who came into this campaign after finishing bottom of the table in the Clausura.
