Chivas’ injury/COVID-19 list keeps growing ahead of their semi-final clash against León in the Liguilla stage of the Guardianes 2020 tournament.

Alexis Vega has been out since November, ‘JJ’ Macías, Jesús Angulo, and Ángel Zaldívar didn’t play against América on Saturday, and now Isaac Brizuela has tested positive for coronavirus.

Fortunately for Chivas, Brizuela was the only player that tested positive but he will miss the entirety of the semi-finals. However, Macías and Zaldívar are likely to come off the bench on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the coin, regular León starting winger/wing-back José David ‘Avión’ Ramírez also tested positive and will miss the semi-finals.

Costa Rican international and former Arsenal forward Joel Campbell will likely replace Ramírez in the starting XI.

Despite hosting América last week, Jalisco governor Enrique Alfaro confirmed on Monday that the Clásico Nacional was a test event and that the Estadio Akron will not allow fans for the first leg on Wednesday.
