The Seagulls announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
Li joins Brighton & Hove Albion after spending the majority of her senior career with Chinese Women’s Super League club Jiangsu. The player does have some experience of playing football in European competition with Li having enjoyed a season-long loan spell in France with Paris Saint-Germain last season.
On the international stage, Li has 19 senior caps for China. She represented her country at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023.
After securing Li’s services, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Melissa Phillips said “Li is a fantastic signing to join our squad this pre-season.
“Her experience as a player and individual will add depth to the squad as we continue to build our identity both on and off the pitch.
“Her knowledge of the game at domestic and international level will be incredibly beneficial to our team.
“She’ll be a key figure within our backline as we continue to solidify our defence ahead of another competitive WSL season.”
Li becomes Brighton & Hove Albion’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
