Chelsea were linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani yesterday.

The Frenchman has fallen out of favour under manager Luis Enrique, and the club are open to selling him.

Chelsea had previously shown interest in the forward before he signed for the Ligue 1 giants from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Blues have big confidence in Nicolas Jackson. The Senegalese centre-forward has improved from last season, but some fans still want him to refine his killer instinct in front of goal.

Chelsea appear willing to ride it out with Jackson as the number nine, with Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu behind him in the pecking order.

They have also been linked to Liam Delap, who is turning heads at Ipswich Town. He has all the tools to become a top Premier League striker.

Chelsea are reluctant to block Jackson’s development by chucking a big-money signing ahead of him, hence the delay over a swoop for another striker.

The more pressing matter for the Blues should be signing a world-class goalkeeper who doesn’t sink the club into trouble at every turn.

As good as Robert Sanchez has been over the past few games, his wayward clearance went to Fulham and they scored from the resulting attack to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea also need a defensive leader to coordinate this backline that has been all over the place all season. Fans will be excited by the links to Bournemouth duo Dean Huijsen and Illya Zabarnyi.
