WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blues this afternoon.
Claypole joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of nine and she has gone on to work her way through the various youth age groups to the first team. The 18-year-old first appeared in the senior squad in the 2021/2022 season. She made her debut in a 3-1 Adobe Women’s FA Cup victory at Aston Villa in January 2022. Since making her first appearance, Claypole has been given two further outings in a Chelsea shirt.
The youngster continued her development out on loan in the second half of last season. Claypole joined Lewes where she clocked up 11 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship and scored two goals. The player was unable to help keep the Sussex club in the second tier.
Claypole will now take another step forward in her career by spending time in Sweden with Linköping FC. She joins a side that currently occupies a mid-table position in the OBOS Damallsvenskan. The player will spend the remainder of the 2024 season with the club.
The forward could be sent out on loan again in the second half of the 2024/2025 season.
