Chelsea show no signs of slowing down their spending in the Todd Boehly era after announcing a surprise deal for Pedro Neto of Wolves to add to an already bloated squad.
The Blues have paid an initial £51.4m (€60m) fee, and could fork out a further £2m in bonuses, to sign a seventh senior winger.
Neto signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge following the completion of his medical.
Last season, the 24-year-old endured an injury-plagued campaign which limited him to just 20 appearances, although he still managed two goals and nine assists during that span.
Neto, who has 10 caps for Portugal, was also the subject of a cash plus Oliver Skipp offer from Tottenham this month, which was rejected by Wolves, per the Express and Star.
His signing takes Chelsea’s summer signing to almost £160m and gives Enzo Maresca an embarrassment of riches (and a selection headache!) when it comes to his wide options.
The former Braga man is set to fight it out with Cole Palmer, Raheem Sterling, Christopher Nkunku, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke and Marc Guiu for regular playing time in those positions in the final third.
