According to The Standard, Paris Saint-Germain have joined Liverpool in showing an interest in Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill (20).
PSG had looked to reinforce their defensive options in January, however, were ultimately prevented from doing so. Lille OSC’s Lény Yoro (18) was the top target for the French side, however, with Les Dogues unwilling to entertain offers until the end of the season, Les Parisiens’ pursuit of the France youth international has been delayed. At the end of the season, PSG will have to contend with more considerable competition for Yoro’s signature.
However, according to The Standard, Colwill has also emerged as a target for PSG, who continue to have doubts about Presnel Kimpembe’s fitness, despite handing the Les Bleus defender an extension in December. Kimpembe has not featured for PSG for a year due to an achilles tendon rupture.
Whilst Chelsea are currently adamant that they will not sell Colwill, who only signed a new six-year deal in the summer, however, the Premier League club could be forced into selling academy products, such as Colwill, but also Conor Gallagher, Armando Broja and Ian Maatsen, in order to balance the books.
The Standard report that PSG’s interest in Colwill is being driven by sporting consultant Luís Campos, who is a big fan of the player.
