Djordje Petrovic has had a good start to his Chelsea career, and plenty has been written about his confident showings since coming into the team to replace the injured Robert Sanchez.

He’s been part of a lot of wins, but of course he’s also timed his appearances perfectly to line up with some weaker opposition. How will he stand up against the top teams?

Well, last night Chelsea played a very good team, and Petrovic stepped up. He made some fantastic saves in both halves, and we could have seen the game go very differently had he not stepped up.

WhoScored had him down as an 8.1 rating, the best in the game. He made 5 saves, some of them really tricky.

As recently as a couple of weeks ago, we would have guessed that the conservative side of Mauricio Pochettino would mean Robert Sanchez coming into the team when he was fit again. Now we genuinely think that Petrovic has the spot until he loses it.
