Bayern Munich are set to prioritize a move for Chelsea’s attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku (27) as they seek to replace the departing Kingsley Coman (29), according to L’Equipe. The France international winger is set to sign a three-year deal with Al-Nassr after Bayern had agreed to a €30m transfer fee with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League side. Coman is the fourth senior Bayern Munich striker to leave this summer, following in the footsteps of Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller and Mathys Tel.
Bayern Munich are expected to continue their revamp of Vincent Kompany’s attacking options after the €75m signing of Liverpool winger Luis Diaz. L’Equipe reports that Nkunku could very well be Coman’s successor at the Allianz Arena as Bayern’s Director of Football, Max Eberl, rates the Chelsea striker highly. The former PSG Academy product is likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Eberl and Nkunku reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms for the France international to leave Chelsea for Bayern in the previous winter transfer window, but Bayern could not meet Chelsea’s €70m asking price. The Blues have now softened their stance and lowered their demands for Nkunku to a transfer fee ranging between €40m and €50m.
