FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via a media update from The Football Association this evening.
Bright sustained a knee injury during the first leg of Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final tie against Lyon at the Groupama Stadium earlier this month. It was hoped that the player would make a swift recovery from the injury but Bright has not yet resumed training and the decision has been made for her to withdraw from international duty next month.
Arsenal defender Wubben-Moy was a notable omission from England head coach Sarina Wiegman’s initial squad selection but she will now have the opportunity to impress after being drafted in.
England will face two fixtures during the April international window. The Lionesses will face Brazil in the 2023 Women’s Finalissima at Wembley on Thursday 6 April before taking on Australia in an international friendly at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford on Tuesday 11 April.
The latest group of England players will come together at St George’s Park following this weekend’s action in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The team will spend a few days at their training base before heading for London.
