With football postponed for the moment, we’ve been thinking about who gets in Chelsea’s all-time XI.

Today we’re choosing the centre forward.

Here are the nominees …

3rd – Jimmy Greaves

He will mainly be remembered for his time at Tottenham, but Jimmy Greaves was a Chelsea icon and centurion.

Known for his ice cold veins in front of goal, the Newham born striker was prolific and arguably the greatest England goal-getter of his generation.

Greaves spent just four seasons with the Blues, but scored a ridiculous 124 goals in 157 appearances before joining Milan.

2nd – Peter Osgood

This man needs no introduction to any Chelsea fans.

Nicknamed “The King of Stamford Bridge”, Peter Osgood was one of the finest goalscorers of his generation, known for his technical quality and natural finishing.

He is immortalised in statue form outside the stadium and even had his ashes buries beneath the Shed End penalty spot, after passing in 2006.

Osgood scored 150 goals for Chelsea in 380 appearances, winning an FA Cup and European Cup Winners’ Cup title.

And the winner is … Didier Drogba

Chelsea spent a lot of money during the early Roman Abramovich years, but Didier Drogba was truly value for money.

Signed for a club record £24m from Marseille, he was a perfect striker who could bully defences, score with either foot and even bring others into play with underrated link-up play.

The Ivorian was known for performing in big games and arguably his biggest came in 2012 – equalising against Bayern Munich and scoring the winning penalty to secure European glory.

Drogba scored 164 goals in 384 appearances for Chelsea, winning four Premier League titles, four FA cup trophies and a Champions League.
