As a childhood Chelsea fan, matches don’t come much bigger for Aggie Beever-Jones than this Friday’s Women’s Super League clash with Arsenal.
The Blues go into the eagerly anticipated London derby three points ahead of the Gunners at the top of the WSL table, and Emma Hayes’s side will be hoping a sold-out Stamford Bridge can roar them onto a big victory.
The final remaining tickets for the match are available for purchase here.
And for Beever-Jones, who has enjoyed a breakout season for the club this term, this clash represents the biggest match of her career so far.
“I think it will be, it’s a classic derby under the lights and we are currently in a title race, so it means a lot,” said the 20-year-old.
“Being a Chelsea fan myself, these are the games you want to play in and dream of and so there’s not much more you could want than getting a big win in a sold-out Stamford Bridge!”
When the two London rivals last met back in December it was a humbling experience for Chelsea, with Arsenal running out 4-1 winners in front of a record WSL crowd of 59,042 at the Emirates Stadium.
Beever-Jones is hoping home advantage at Stamford Bridge can inspire the Blues to revenge this time around.
“There’s always been a rivalry between Chelsea and Arsenal, even as a kid when I was in the Chelsea academy, the team were always up for playing Arsenal’s academy,” she added.
“I think, this time, I’m most excited about being at our home [Stamford Bridge] with our fans supporting us all the way. The fans are going to have our back the whole time, they [the fans] bring the noise and the energy and if we need it, they are there to help us to dig deep and push on in that moment.
“We are definitely going to put out a fight and leave everything out on the pitch.”
After making her debut for the club in the 2021/22 season, the Blues academy product spent time out on loan at Bristol City and Everton before returning to her parent club last summer.
Since then she has made 15 first-team appearances, scoring five goals, and is now hoping she can catch the eye of England boss Sarina Wiegman and force her way into the Lionesses’ senior set-up.
“I want to win as much as I can, and I really feel that Chelsea is the right place for that!” she added.
“We’re still in to win the quadruple this year and we like to hope we can do that.
“Overall, just enjoying my time at Chelsea and hopefully opening up doors to the senior [England] team would be the dream for me in the next five years.”
