Chelsea’s £163.7m windfall on top of what they earned for winning the Club World Cup has been revealed this week.
The Blues lifted the Club World Cup trophy on Sunday night to become Champions of the World. This comes with big earnings which will end up close to £100m.
Chelsea turned PSG over to thrash them 3-0 on the night, and one Sky Sports reporter believes the win has ‘made Chelsea great again’.
Of course, this expression is a nod towards American President Donald Trump, who gate crashed Chelsea’s trophy lift on Sunday night which was quite frankly just very bizarre.
Even though rival fans are playing down the trophy as not being important – it clearly is VERY important.
Chelsea take home a lot of money from winning the Club World Cup which will be a huge help going forward and covering themselves from more PSR issues and helping balance the books and spending more money on signing new players.
As well as winning the extra competitions, with The Conference League win also bringing in some nice extra revenue for Chelsea this season, they also earned some good cash from playing in the Premier League and getting a decent league finish.
According to The BBC this week, this is what every Premier League club ended up earning this season:
1st: Liverpool – £174.9m
2nd: Arsenal – £171.5m
3rd: Manchester City – £165.5m
4th: Chelsea – £163.7m
5th: Newcastle United – £160.2m
6th: Aston Villa – £159.3m
7th: Nottingham Forest – £152.5m
8th: Brighton – £145.1m
9th: Bournemouth – £143.4m
10th: Brentford – £138.9m
11th: Fulham – £135.5m
12th: Crystal Palace – £136.1m
13th: Everton – £131.8m
14th: West Ham – £130.9m
15th: Manchester United – £136.2m
16th: Wolves – £123.1m
17th: Tottenham – £127.8m
18th: Leicester – £116.9m
19th: Ipswich Town – £111.1m
20th: Southampton – £109.2m
Not a bad bit of windfall that!
