Chelsea FC Women have signed England international midfielder Keira Walsh from Spanish champions Barcelona on a four-and-a-half-year deal.
Capped 80 times by her country, she helped England win Euro 2022 and finish runners-up at the World Cup the following year.
For the last three seasons she has made the FIFPRO Women’s World 11 and played for Team GB at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Her time with Barcelona brought back-to-back domestic and Champions League titles, following on from WSL, FA Cup and League Cup success at Manchester City.
Walsh told chelseafc.com: ‘It’s unbelievable. I’m very happy to be here and very excited to get started.
‘You look at the history of the trophies Chelsea have won and I’m an ambitious player and person, so for me, it is a good fit.’
Head of women’s football Paul Green added: ‘Keira is a player who will add huge value to an already talented squad. She has vast experience at the highest level, winning major honours at both domestic and international level.
