Chelsea were struck by the “FIFA virus” of the international break when they lost Christian Pulisic to injury, but good news has arrived within the last hour that the winger is fit to play for the USA against Saudi Arabia tomorrow.

Not only is he fit, coach Gregg Berhalter also confirmed that the winger will start the game in Murcia. He often performs better for his country than for Chelsea, and we hope he can find some form there to take forward with us when he returns.

As with the case of England, it’s the USA’s last game before the World Cup, and Pulisic will have been keen for some minutes to augment what has been a stop start season for him so far.

It’s not clear what Graham Potter’s thinking on Pulisic is, but at least he will return to Cobham without an injury later this week so the new coach can start getting a look at him.
