Chelsea are reportedly ready to waive the transfer fee in order to let a player leave the club who has been there for 9 years so far.
We speak a lot on how badly Chelsea treat their own players, so I guess it is nice to read a positive story for once on them treating a player well.
The treatment of another academy player Trevoh Chalobah has been nothing short of disgusting in my eyes as they confirmed his loan recall yesterday. And I also don’t like how they have completely frozen out club vice-captain and Champions League winner Ben Chilwell either. But those are different stories, and this one is thankfully a positive one.
Harvey Vale has been at Chelsea since 2016 when he was just 12-years-old, arriving from the Fulham youth academy, where he had been since 2010.
Vale has been trying to make it at Chelsea and has been out and about on loan. But now, with his contract ending in the summer and no renew looking like it will happen, his time at the club is coming to and end and it looks like he will not be fulfilling a dream to become a regular Chelsea player.

I actually think Vale is a very good versatile player, but he’s never going to be at the level to become a first team Chelsea player. So a move away is the next best step, and Chelsea won’t be asking for a transfer fee.
According to Kieran Gill of The Daily Mail, Vale is now nearing a permanent exit from Chelsea after being on books since age 12.
He has offers from Championship, plus clubs in Belgium and Holland. Chelsea are willing to waive the transfer fee for the 21-year-old in order to facilitate a move this month. Chelsea will ask for a sell-on clause to be inserted instead though.
