Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, should their transfer ban be rescinded by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Fifa upheld their verdict last week and gave the Blues a two-window ban on registering new players after it was deemed they breached rules on signing under-age players.

It’s expected that the Stamford Bridge outfit will learn CAS’ verdict in July, but in the meantime the club are lining up a list of targets should their ban be overturned.

The BBC’s David Ornstein told 5 Live on Tuesday evening that one of those targets is Cavani, with PSG likely to offload the Uruguayan striker this summer.

Cavani is known to have fallen out with fellow forward Neymar this season and as such will be cast aside by the French giants.

It’s as yet unclear as to how much the South American hitman would cost.

Should Chelsea’s ban be upheld though, they will look to recall Michy Batshuayi and Tammy Abraham from their loans at Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, respectively.
