Chelsea will face off against RB Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League group stages on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge. The Blues suffered a 1-0 defeat against Dynamo Zagreb in their opening round under Thomas Tuchel while Salzburg were held to a 1-1 draw against AC Milan in their previous UCL fixture.
The hosts will be looking to bounce back under Graham Potter, the new man in charge of the club. On the other hand, the Austrian outfit will look to grab a win in this away encounter.
Graham Potter will utilise a 3-5-2 formation allowing Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to form a two-man strike team up top. With the Blues boss gearing up for his first match after his arrival, he will be looking to select his strongest playing XI naming Silva, Fofana and Koulibaly in the three-man defence.
Matthias Jaissle will probably opt for a 4-3-1-2 formation with Benjamin Sesko continuing his striking partnership alongside Noah Okafor whereas Dijon Kameri slots into the advanced attacking midfield role.
Chelsea
The Blues will remain without N’Golo Kante as he finds himself in the treatment room due to a hamstring injury which should keep him sidelined until after the international break. The rest of the team has returned to full fitness with Edouard Mendy recovering from bruised ribs and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being able to play with a mask on.
