The Blues have taken just a point from their last two league matches whilst failing to score. Meanwhile, West Ham United travel across the capital unbeaten in five league outings and having defeated Everton 3-0 on Sunday.
Ahead of the match, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the statistics between the two clubs and we can now bring you four facts which relate to Chelsea’s meeting with West Ham United.
Hammers hit hard by Pernille in recent times
Chelsea forward Pernille Harder has netted hat-tricks in two of her last three outings against West Ham United. The Danish international scored her first treble against Olli Harder’s side in last season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup while she netted another hat-trick against The Hammers in the same competition last week.
Hat-tricks are common in this fixture
Adding to the hat-trick theme further, Chelsea players have netted hat-tricks against West Ham United in three of their last four meetings in all competitions. In addition to Harder’s trebles in the FA Women’s Continental League Cup, Sam Kerr also scored a hat-trick in the same fixture last season as Chelsea won 3-2.
Both teams don’t lose many
Chelsea and West Ham United have both lost just twice in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League this season, records which can only be bettered by league leaders Arsenal. Both sides lost on the opening weekend of the season and have been defeated just once since.
West Ham United share goalscoring record
West Ham United are one of only two Barclays FA Women’s Super League teams to have scored more than once at Kingsmeadow in the last two-and-a-half seasons, Brighton & Hove Albion being the other. The Hammers are aiming to build on that record against a Chelsea side who have conceded once in four games on home soil this season.
