Mauricio Pochettino is due to be named the new Blues boss ahead of the window opening, at which point both a squad clearout is tipped to take place along and further investment in signings.

Manchester United have long been touted as the main contenders to land Osimhen this summer in their bid for a new striker, which has also seen Harry Kane rumoured for their shortlist.

Pochettino is thought to like Kane too, according to talkSPORT, but their report has identified Napoli’s Osimhen as Chelsea’s first-choice striker signing.

The Blues are said to be hoping to take advantage of the uncertainty around United’s takeover and secure the Nigerian’s signature at a cost of around £125million.

Such a deal would likely spell the end of Joao Felix’s time in west London.

Brighton have, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, already held talks with Arsenal over midfielder Caicedo, who they fought so hard to keep over the January transfer market.

But transfer journalist Dean Jones has now claimed that Chelsea are very much in the running and will put an enquiry to Brighton over their stance on cashing in.

The capital club are reportedly wanting to do their transfer business early and gain a quick answer as to whether Caicedo could join or if they need to focus on other targets.

And eagle-eyed Chelsea fans spotted director Joe Shields sending the player a congratulatory message over social media after the Seagulls qualified for the Europa League. Which is something (maybe).

Manchester United are preparing an offer for Chelsea academy graduate Mount amid interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Standard Sport understands the midfielder is preparing to say his goodbyes to Stamford Bridge having been left in limbo over a new contract, with talks stalled as he approaches the final year of his deal.
