Chelsea training: Who featured and who was missing

Chelsea have just completed their last training session before the Champions League clash tomorrow night versus Dinamo Zagreb.

It was a chance for the youngsters to impress, and also for the fringe players to stake a claim. Having already qualified for the next round of the Champions League, there is a real opportunity to rest many of the first team players and give minutes to the aforementioned groups.

However, if you are judging by who trained today, then it doesn’t look like there is much chance for any academy players to play tomorrow, unless any surprises of course.

So, here are the key points from training:

  • No Mateo Kovacic or Kepa Arrizabalaga.
  • Carney Chukwuemeka individually training and facing a fight to be fit.
  • Goalkeeper Eddie Beach trains in Kepa’s absence.
  • Zak Sturge (might not be eligible), Dion Rankine, and Lewis Hall spotted, but the only academy players there.

We’ll see what happens with the selection, I guess.
