Chelsea’s transfer heavy summer has got quiet in the last week, but that just makes you feel like the next big deal is just around the corner.

While the main links are with European superstars like Wesley Fofana and Frenkie de Jong, there are some domestic names being mentioned too.

The Mirror today write that Chelsea are one of the teas interested in Ronnie Edwards of Peterborough.

The 19 year old has really impressed in the Championship after breaking into the Posh setup, and their director of football Barry Fry spoke openly about Chelsea’s interest.

“I’ve had conversations with people at Chelsea who are in the know… they came to watch [loanee] Lucas Bergstrom, but they were taken by Ronnie. They haven’t made a bid yet… but they certainly like him,” Fry said.

Chelsea’s summer has seen a number of young players recruited, and it wouldn’t be at all surprising to see Edwards join their ranks. A loan back to the Championship to continue his development would be the most likely outcome after that.

This is one to keep your eye on for the final three weeks of the transfer window, without doubt
