Chelsea will donate a portion of the earnings from competing in the 2025 Club World Cup to the families of Diogo Jota and André Silva, the two brothers who died on July 3rd in a car accident in Spain.

According to The Athletic, the London club, together with the entire squad, decided to share a part of the bonus earned in the intercontinental tournament which came to $15.5 million.

Consequently, the grieving families will receive $500,000 per player, as a tribute to the former Liverpool player and his brother André, who played in the Portuguese second league for FC Penafiel.

The Blues won the tournament in the US, defeating Paris Saint-Germain in the final. Additionally, Chelsea forward Pedro Neto had a very close relationship with Diogo Jota, having played together for Wolves and also for the national team.
