Chelsea had been due to open the 2022/23 campaign at Stamford Bridge, but a new fixture will now be chosen to be hosted at the club's main stadium and announced in the coming days.

The match against West Ham has been rescheduled for Wednesday 28 September, with a 19:05 kick off at Kingsmeadow. The fixture will be broadcast on BBC Two.

Tickets purchased for the originally-scheduled match at Stamford Bridge are not transferrable to the newly-arranged fixture against West Ham at Kingsmeadow. However, all tickets for the original fixture can be transferred to the newly scheduled match at Stamford Bridge once this is announced. A full refund can also be claimed for the fixture.

Chelsea kick off their WSL campaign against newly-promoted Liverpool on Sunday evening as they attempt to defend their league title for a fourth consecutive season.

Emma Hayes' side were crowned champions of England on a dramatic final day of the 2021/22 campaign, coming from behind to beat Manchester United 4-2 thanks to a pair of stunning Sam Kerr goals and pip Arsenal to the title by a single point.
