Chelsea will meet Manchester City in an all-English Champions League final on May 29 after beating Real Madrid 2-0 (3-1 on aggregate) at Stamford Bridge.

Timo Werner and Mason Mount scored the goals which means Thomas Tuchel will go head-to-head against Pep Guardiola in Istanbul.

Scorers: Werner 28′, Mount 85′.

The opening stages of the first half were cagey, as expected, but Karim Benzema almost broke the deadlock when he produced a stunning save from Edouard Mendy with a curled effort from the edge of the box.

That seemed to speak Chelsea into life as they went straight down the other end and burst into the lead.

Kai Havertz’s chipped effort rebounded off the bar and into the path of Timo Werner, who headed into the empty net.

Mendy was on hand to deny Benzema again moments later, this time getting a finger tip onto the Frenchman’s header to force it over the bar.

Havertz could’ve had a hat-trick in this game, and was guilty of missing a few opportunities at the start of the second half as Chelsea really should’ve been out of sight.

The 21-year-old headed against the crossbar before finding himself through on goal but being denied by Thibaut Courtois’ leg.

Courtois kept Zinedine Zidane’s men in the game almost single-handedly, keeping out Kante from close range with his feet as the Blues broke into the box almost at will.

There was a lingering sense that Chelsea might live to regret those missed chances but in truth Real failed to test Mendy in the second 45 minutes and the Premier League side put the game to bed five minutes from time.

Kante drove forward once again, playing in Christian Pulisic who turned the ball across for Mount to force home.

The Blues make the final of the Champions League for the first time since they won the competition in Munich in 2012.
