Chelsea’s teenage forward Aimee Claypole has signed her first professional contract with the club.

The Blues announced the news via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

It has been reported that Claypole has signed on with Chelsea until summer 2025 while the Barclays Women’s Super League champions have the option to extend the deal by a further year.

Claypole has largely represented Chelsea in the Professional Game Academy League in recent times, although she was handed three senior appearances from the bench last season. A loan move could be the next step in her development as she looks to get more senior minutes under her belt.

After signing her first professional contract, Claypole said “It’s a really proud moment for me and my family. It’s something that I’ve worked really hard for and to do it at my childhood club is a huge honour and to do it at this club, which is one of the best teams in the world.

“It’s amazing that I’ve been given that honour and the trust has been put in me to allow that to happen. I’m really grateful and I can’t wait to get started.”

Claypole will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of fellow forward Aggie Beever-Jones in the coming years. Beever-Jones has starred for Chelsea this season after coming through the academy system and remaining patient for her opportunity to impress.
