Chelsea are already plotting their summer transfer window to strengthen the squad.
The Blues spent significant money the last two summers, with their main signing last summer being Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Given Chelsea are still unable to close the points gap to Manchester City in the Premier League, they may be hoping to further strengthen this coming summer.
According to Evening Standard, Chelsea will push to sign a central midfielder in the summer.
The Blues are heavily reliant on N'Golo Kante, who has experienced injury issues the past two seasons.
They also want someone who can pair nicely with Jorginho, who is not the most mobile.
Monaco's Aurelien Tchouameni and West Ham United star Declan Rice are both considered as targets.
Conor Gallagher, who will return from a loan spell with Crystal Palace this summer, will also be assessed by Thomas Tuchel.
