Chelsea target another Brazilian star after completing €15m Denner deal, Barcelona also in the race

Chelsea are pushing hard to complete a deal for Gremio teenager Gabriel Mec to join the club in 2026 according to reports .
The Blues have really tapped into the South American market under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital ownership, making a number of signings from the continent.
Chelsea have secured the signings of perhaps the two best talents in the country in Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez, who will join the club this summer.
Chelsea agreed a deal this week for 17-year-old Corinthians’s full back Denner Evangelista, who will sign a seven year contract and join the club in 2026, and it now appears they are trying to complete another deal.
TBR Football have reported the Blues are pushing hard to complete a deal for 16-year-old Gremio star Mec, who they were linked with last summer.

The report adds that Mec is apparently the next big talent in South America, and Chelsea could face competition from Spanish giants Barcelona for the teenage star.
Mec is an attacking midfielder and has made 20 appearances for Gremio’s under-20 side, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
If the Blues were to complete the signing of Mec it would continue their drive to sign the best young talent from around the world, although what the plan is for all these players is unclear.

Chelsea have also been linked with 16-year-old Ajax star Jorthy Mokio, and whilst it’s great to see the club targeting starts of the future, the Blues face a crucial summer with the first team needing to be strengthened in several key areas.
The Blues are said to be leading the race for Ipswich striker Liam Delap, whilst there’s also believed to be interest in AC Milan star Rafael Leao, although any deal for the Portugal international could be very expensive.
