Chelsea take interest for 20-year-old who recently had Cameroon callup after switching from England | OneFootball

According to reports this afternoon, Chelsea are receiving interest for one of their very highly rated young midfielders.

The Evening Standard report that French side Lorient FC are interested in Chelsea midfielder Ben Elliott.

The 20-year-old has just one year left on his contract and is attracting interest from Ligue 1. The report states he could leave on a permanent deal.

This would be a massive loss for Chelsea, with Elliott being a very highly rated player who came through the academy at the club.

The midfielder also recently switched allegiances from England to Cameroon and was swiftly called up into their senior international squad recently.

Chelsea are signing many top young talents themselves, and I guess that is also going to have ramifications on some of the current players they have their with even more competition for places and pathways to the first team being closed off. There just isn’t a happy medium.
